This presentation focuses on how we have used DevOps Engineering Practices to drive our Digital transformation at the Standard Bank Group. When we started this journey our aim was to answer a simple question: Can modernized Engineering Practices(DevOps) create a competitive advantage for our Business? Our aim was to answer this question so that we could showcase a direct correlation between the way we engineered our products and services and the benefit to our customer. This presentation will aim to highlight our journey to date and the work that we are still doing to answer the above question. This presentation will also provide insight into how we have integrated this work with some of our strategic Programmes such as our Cloud Programme and our Resilience Program. It will also showcase how a 150 year old bank is trying to reinvent the way we look at Engineering and some of the pitfalls that we have experienced in our journey but also some of the great successes that we have seen.
